There is something about just hearing the sound of an area as a way to relax. I still remember hearing a soundscape from a camping RV park- far away, hearing kids laugh, doors opening and the wind through the trees. I wish I knew where it was from.
I love how the National Park Service has a PDF explaining how they desire to keep the soundscapes as unaltered as possible: soundscape plans for National Park Service
