Safely landed in Beijing, China!

Andrea and I landed in Beijing yesterday at 5pm.. 2 hours later than we had expected. I was worried the flight was going to be arduous, but there were multiple in-flight movies that helped move it along. I’m kicking myself for not choosing a seat in the emergency isle. We sat in a second that had a wall behind us- thus our seats couldn’t fully recline. 🙁 I sat next to a very night Chinese grandmother and we complained on the size of the noodles and how much the flight was.

Everything looked pretty normal as our taxi driver drove us to our Hostel- until he took a quick right off the main road. Suddenly, we were in a tiny alleyway with only a tiny bit of space on either size. Bored shopkeepers sitting on their shop steps lazily moved their legs so our taxi van could get by! Older men walked around in front of our bus with no shirts, or with their bellies showing. Little kids and parents looked on as we pulled up in front of The Emperor’s Guard Station Courtyard Guesthouse.
