“Consider everything an experiment.”
a quote from Sister Corita Kent. Posted on via superflux Blog. This makes me think more about the actions and things I do. Why do them? To just do?
In elementary school, I learned that an experiment has several parts: a hypothesis with an idea of an expected outcome, a test of that hypothesis and a conclusion.
If I am intentional about I do in my life, I think I’ll have more success.
Here’s an example: Some friends and I were going to go on a camp trip. Before we left, one of the friends asked us:
What are your expectations for this camp trip?
I’ve never directly asked other people about their expectations for simple things like a camp trip. But, asking other’s expectations gave us a really good time. Some people didn’t want to hike, other people wanted to learn more about the other couples and others wanted to relax. We all walked away intentionally knowing what we and others wanted.
I think I keep wanting to make art or create something in order to feel better, instead of having a goal in mind. I’ve been thinking lately about improving my design skills in order to help non-profits get their message across. I’ll have to think more on it.
