Seriously, how much Bible does God really want me to be absorbing? How much?
Too much of my Christian life have I felt guilty about how many and what kind of “quiet times” I do.
I listen to audio Bible many times im the morning getting ready or driving to work.
I know I don’t study it as much as I feel I want. I think I would love to make art about what I am studying. Honestly I would rather watch a somewhat interesting TV show than read the Bible.
Out of my 24 hour day at what point can I feel satisfied or not guilty about reading.
Paul Hatfield: “I can’t help you go deep…I can’t read your Bible for you…who is responsible for your growth?” (Guy with a deep voice in audience says “THE HOLY SPIRIT”.)
Paul: “yeah.. true, working in..
You.” True, I agree.
When I went to Calvary chapel Bible College I really felt like I knew God when I knew the Bible well. I felt like I knew what he was like, what He wanted.
Paul: “we don’t read to always understand everything. We read..
to know God”. Very very cool.
1 thess 2:13 “let the word of God do it’s work in you..” Back then apostle paul was big on the words of God as a way changing us.
Giving Up
Paul: “but you will miss a day..you may want to quit. But what if you missed a day talking to your wife…do you say forget it, I’m giving up”.
Really good point.
Memorizing Scripture
Paul: “how do you memorize? Review review review”. I disagree, kind of. I think we need to review with different retrieval methods. By drawing it. By reading it. By writing it. By saying it. By imagining it.
